The Symantec AntiVirus Research Center’s Online Encyclopedia offers the most up-to-date information on recent threats. You may also search the encyclopedia for a comprehensive description of older threats.
Anti-Virus Software Sources
UITS provides a site-licensed copy of Norton Antivirus for Intel and Macintosh hardware. The software is contained on the latest IUWARE CD-ROM which may be purchased for $5 from the UCS Support Center (IMU 084) or the Departmental Support Lab (faculty and staff only). Norton Antivirus for Intel based computers is also available on the web at IUWare Online.
Departmental AntiVirus Server
The department has a server running Norton Antivirus Enterprise Edition. Computers can attach to this server and receive automatic virus definition updates, scheduled scans, etc. If you are interested in this service, please contact us.
