ChemBIO Draw 12 Ultra - IUB ONLY - (Download - Info)

In association with STC, ChemBiodraw 12 Ultra is available at all IUB STC sites and for download to all faculty and students on the IUB campus. This ultimate drawing suite includes ChemBioDraw Ultra 12.0, MestReC (W), BioDraw Ultra, Chem3D Std(W), ChemFinder Std(W) and E-Notebook Std(W). It adds BioDraw, Chem3D and E-Notebook applications, as well as features such as Struct<=>Name, ChemNMR, Stoichiometry Grid, ChemDraw/Excel, Properties LiveLink, Calculation of tPSA, and Name=Struct for ChemDraw/Excel (W) to ChemDraw Pro.

Spartan is a Chemistry Department sponsored software package that is available on both the Windows and Macintosh platform and limited to 50 concurrent licenses. Spartan is provided on all IUB STC workstations. To obtain the software

Indiana High School ACP Teachers - You have a few steps that need to be done
1. Request an IU account - http://kb.iu.edu/data/achn.html#sfs

Becky Carter with the ACP Program 812-855-3671 can help you with this process. You will need your University ID# to complete this step and obtain an account.

2. Once you have your account, Fill out the form here http://chemfacilities.chem.indiana.edu/forms/itg/spartan/spartanSignup.asp
3. After you have filled out the form, you will have to wait until the ACP program has approved your account and ITG has given authority to download the software. You will be able to check this status at the form above
4. Once you are authorized to download, You can get the software from here http://iuware.iu.edu/list.aspx?id=186
5. You will also need to download the IUB VPN software. You can obtain it here http://iuware.iu.edu/list.aspx?id=134 This is **REQUIRED** for you to run spartan. You will have to connect to the IUB VPN for Spartan to work.

IU has a site license for the CSD and a copy can be obtained by submitting an ITG job request form , the Chemistry Library, or by calling 855-9452. Currently a download is not available due to the way the software is distributed by the company.

Info/Instructions: SciFinder Scholar software for Windows (95, 98, NT, 2000 and XP) or Macintosh may be downloaded at the links below as a self-extracting executable file. It can be loaded on any computer at IUB, IUPUI, IUN, IUSB, IUSE, IUK, IPFW or can be used from home via a PPP connection to the university.

SciFinder Web - https://scifinder.cas.org/ - Chemical Abstracts recently released a web-based version of SciFinder. You need to register to use it at https://bl-libg-doghill.ads.iu.edu/chem-web/SciFinderWeb.html. The web version is nice for those who do not want to download the client software or want to use when they are away from your lab of office. You can access SciFinder on the web away from campus from any networked computer (as long as you use a VPN-type connection).
