There are fourteen Procurve HP4000M switches distributed inside Chemistry that provide connectivity to the campus for seven IP subnets. The current standard connection in labs and offices are half duplex 10Mbit switched port (stainless steel data jack); or a full duplex 100Mbit switched capable port (auto sensing- white face plate).

New network ports may be installed for an installation cost of about $500. Gigabit Ethernet capabilities out to offices and labs (over copper) will be considered based on the current departmental policy.
